The Coacharya Youth Programme connects research to program design and practice by placing the voice of young people at the centre of the design thinking process, to create a global youth-centred leadership training programme. We’re carrying out 500+ video and written surveys with young people from across the world. Through this research Coacharya aim to identify gaps in the core life skills of young people today captured from a youth perspective, to bridge these gaps through training and to gain invaluable insights into the coaching and leadership needs of global youth. The results are helping us to create a unique and meaningful mobile-friendly platform of course delivery combining skills training, live webinars, virtual meet-ups, and discussion groups on a multi-platform learning management system for global young people aged 15-30.

In an ever changing world we must truly understand how we, as coaches and mentors, can help young people to thrive and make a positive impact on society, the environment and economy. Through the voices of those most important to our future we’d like to share these results and our youth coaching journey with you to make that impact.

Leah Black is a qualified youth and community practitioner specialising in youth coaching, mentoring and training with 15 years’ experience in the field of youth work. She now runs an on-line youth coaching and mentoring service and leads the Coacharya Youth Programme. Having worked in the UK, Ecuador, and across Africa she is passionate about raising the voices of global youth and strives to prepare future generations to be the best they can be for themselves, for others and for the world, enabling young people to feel that they belong, can lead and be heard, succeed and thrive.

Leah is joined by the captured voices and videos of young people who took part in the surveys and shared their insights into their world.

In addition, technology permitting, we will be joined via Zoom technology by Magda Walczak, Coacharya CEO and author from the USA and one of our youth programme facilitators, Nishmita D’Souza.
